In a year which saw a gradual improvement in demand for metal shop fittings it was encouraging to see this performance continue through the traditionally quiet Christmas period in 2015.
And there is further good news at the beginning of 2016 which is seeing the demand for metal shopfittings remain higher than usual for the time of year.
This continued performance indicates increasing confidence among the retailers who are investing in new stores and shop fittings. This confidence reflects the positive news in today’s figures from the British Retail Consortium (BRC) which shows January’s retail footfall was the best in 2 years across all 3 areas – high street, retail parks and shopping centres. This ends a 9 month period of decline.
The most significant figures were on the high street which saw the first increase in footfall since July 2013. Of course time will tell whether this is a blip or recovery, but at Dymond Shopfittings we are planning on the increase in demand continuing this year.
